Ingredients for Fajita Seasoning Mix

  • 4 T corn starch
  • 2 T chili powder
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 T paprika
  • 2-1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 2-1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper not pictured
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp sugar, optional, I leave it out.

Fajita Seasoning Mix How-To

Now that you have all of your ingredients out and a jar to store it in, go ahead and start adding your ingredients in the order listed. This way you won’t forget or add the same ingredient twice. If a little extra falls into the jar while you are measuring, it’s not the end of the world, just go with it. It will be better than any fajita seasoning mix blend you would buy at the store.

It should look all nice and pretty like sand art when you have all of your ingredients added to the jar. I could have used an 8 oz half pint or jelly jar for this fajita seasoning mix but wasn’t too sure when I got started.

How to Use Fajita Seasoning Mix

Just add 2 Tablespoons to about a pound of precooked meat and 2/3 cup of water and let it all simmer together for about 5 minutes. It can be chicken, ground beef, leftover pulled pork, the possibilities are endless for this seasoning mix.

Once done, add to a warmed tortilla with all the normal fajita fixings, sauteed peppers and onions, sour cream, shredded cheese, whatever your family likes and enjoy!
